Axle PTO Jack Shaft
Is there a certain direction the PTO shaft installs in the axle on an 8000 series? Mine is longer to the front than the back, and I think that is going to cause issues with clearancing my double joint for the implements.
I have to pull it to replace the bearings, so I can switch it at that point...

New guy here
Hello,
I have a John Deere D125 lawn tractor with a two cylinder OHV briggs and Stratton. Also, I have a 1953 Ford Jubilee. Having some issues with the John Deere that I could use some advice on. I figure between the Ford and JD I will have plenty of questions in the future.

Choke cable placement???
Replaced my Zenith Carb on my S14D with a good Walbro. The only issue I am finding is with the choke cable. It appears the Walbro is set up to be hand operated, however I would like to use a choke cable, since I already have one in use for the Zenith Carburetor. Has anyone routed a cable for the Walbro cross over and could share the information, it would be very much appreciated and a picture would be worth a bunch. I am attaching a picture of both carburetors. The Walbro on right, has the choke arm on top and is in closed position (cable pushed in) and open when cable is pulled out.

My crazy idea. But need your help.
Okay so i got to thinking over the winter how cool would it be to have a old walk behind leaf blower mounted to my quick hitch and run off the front pto. Well i have been searching for one and have some leads but before I get one i would like to get it to work on paper first.
I mainly need help with powering it correctly so i can make it worth while. I would like to use the short pto shaft off the blower so when the quick hitch is on i can quickly hook it up for use. i have thought about how the chain and sprockets are setup on the blower and would like to have something fairly similar as i can just get replacement jd parts and be all set. However i dont think i am going to get the speed out of the fan that easily. I have also thought about trying to find a old front mount mower type blower but they are ungodly expensive yet.
How can i properly get this to work? Thanks in advanced.

Need some help with Gravely ID
Can anyone help me identify the model number for this Promaster 300? The only number I can find is for the mower deck. There are no other stickers on it that I can find.
Previous owner made some modifications - repowered with a Briggs and added his own PTO switch. Runs great! Just needs some TLC.
Thanks!!!
Mike

To lube or not to lube?
In another post I mentioned that I have partially disassembled a WWII bog harrow. I'm about to reassemble it. Is there any opinion about lubricating or putting anti-seize on the bolt threads? Would lubed threads tend to vibrate loose over time on a harrow (assuming the nuts were tightened as they should be) or should I reassemble everything dry? Thanks.

Mitsubishi MT372 Keeps snapping shear pin
Have a problem with the sheer pin sheering ... Knew the bushhog was too big for it so we got rid of that, but the grader box shouldn't cause the pin to snap but it doesn and happens every other time we use it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated coz I've been trying to sell it and don't want to cheat anyone ... runs great otherwise ...

MF 14 - rebuilt engine runs rough
New to the forum, just glad there is a place to post my question!
My father has owned a '76 MF 14 since about 1979. The engine received a rebuild this year. New piston, rings, overbore etc. We had reputable shop do the machine work and re-assembly of the internals. We handled the rest.
We re-installed the engine and it runs extremely rough and will not idle very well. It doesn't seem to be making any power and requires constant manipulation of the choke and idle speed to keep it running. It is also backfiring both through the carb and muffler intermittently.
We've replaced (or replaced again) the following with little improvement:
Points and gap
Condenser
Spark plug
Spark plug wire
Coil
Rebuilt carb
Verified fuel flow from fuel pump.
At the moment we are concerned that the machine shop may have mistimed the crank to camshaft and we're "one tooth off" of proper timing.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike Bailey, Troy MI

New to me MW 14 Variable Speed
So I came home with the MW 14 that I posted about a few days ago. Initial problems, fuel leak from the carb-area, no spark.
Initial thoughts.. I have no clue what engine this thing has. Have not been able to find a tab or any numbers anywhere on it. It has a carb Istyle I have never seen before and a regulator the size of my fist! LOL.
And now obligatory pics:

So seriously, anyone know who made this engine and what model it is?
Oh and it appears it was brushed painted green

craftsman gt5000 new member
Hello folks,
I need some help with the oil valve on gt 5000...I saw a thread on it & need to ask some follow up questions.
It has a brass valve with a 90 degree & also straight out with a bolt.
I got the bolt out but I can't seem to find the replacement bolt or how to take the 90 degree out with out unbolting the motor. I saw a thread on it & need to ask more questions of the procedure to fix this.
Thanks

Does anyone know the bolt pattern for the 5 hole wheels on the back of the John Deere 111 model tractors? Also used on the 108, 112H, and 116. :thanku:
